  231.          ProGem folder:
  232.                        ProGem is a series of articles by Tim Oren,
  233.                    formerly of Digital Research's GEM development team,
  234.                    detailing the working of the GEM interface and how to
  235.                    program for it. The samples are written in 'C' but
  236.                    also apply to any other language that uses GEM. This
  237.                    is required reading for anyone who is interested in
  238.                    writing GEM based programs. The folder contains the
  239.                    first 11 articles plus the sample code. This series
  240.                    comes from Compuserve's Antic Online.

  536.                          Disk #15:-CP/M80
  537.                   
  538.      CPM80. This is the complete emulator for the CP/M-80
  539.          operating system. It will run programs written for CP/M
  540.          such as Wordstar, MBASIC, DBASE II, MULIPLAN and a vast
  541.          collection of public domain software. These programs can
  542.          be downloaded from many BBS's with the ST and ported to
  543.          the CP/M disk with the TOSCPM utility that is included
  544.          with the emulator. There is documentation included BUT
  545.          a working knowledge of CP/M is necessary to understand
  546.          how to run programs under CP/M.

  651.              For many new Atari ST owners, this disk is the answer to
  652.          a prayer.  We hope that it will prove useful to all.  We have
  653.          endeavored to provide on one disk a variety of public domain
  654.          programs that will show off the power of the ST, provide
  655.          useful information on a number of subjects of interest to the
  656.          beginner and, of course, publicize the benefits of the local
  657.          Atari users groups.

  1370.     This disk contains three folders: OSS_FILE.S, OTHER_MA.CH and PER_PASC.AL.
  1371. All of the Pascal files available from the OSS BBS are in the first folder.
  1372. There are four files from Compuserve in the second folder of files from other
  1373. machines. The last folder contains the source code for some very useful
  1374. programs.

  1376.                          DISK 63: RAM DISKS
  1377.  
  1378.      This disk contains all the public domain RAM disks that I 
  1379. could find as of APRIL 11,1988. I tried to avoid any duplication.
  1380.  There are probably some I missed, but this ought to be an adequate
  1381.  selection for most purposes.
  1382.      I have included several automatic RAM disk loaders that will
  1383. load a RAM disk with files or contents of a floppy during boot.
  1384.      There is an article on RAM disks also on this disk which discusses
  1385.  RAM disk characteristics and provides a short comparison table of
  1386.  the "better" ones. This file is named CNRAMDSK.DOC.
  1387.      There is a file named GERAMDSK.DOC that is essentially an annotated
  1388. index of RAM disks that I got off GEnie. 
  1389.      All .DOC files are ASCII files, so they can be read directly
  1390. from the desktop by double-clicking on them and then selecting
  1391. SHOW from the dialog box.

  1396.          This disk contains the MicroEMACS screen editor and a number
  1397.          of associated files.

  1399.          To run the editor, you need to have the EMACS.RC file on your
  1400.          disk with EMACS37I.TTP.  The EMACS.RC file originally on the
  1401.          disk is set for a color monitor and is the same as
  1402.          EMACSCOL.RC.  If you have a black and white monitor, you
  1403.          should use EMACSBAW.RC.  Simply copy this to your desktop and
  1404.          rename it to EMACS.RC.  There is also a version which gives
  1405.          you a menu-
  1406. based system (EMACSMENU.RC).  The keys are not all
  1407.          bound in the menu version to reflect the ST.  (For example,
  1408.          in the color version, the arrow keys move you in the
  1409.          appropriate directions.)
  1410.  
  1411.          In the DOCS folder you will find a tutorial (EMACS.TUT) and
  1412.          two additional reference manuals (EMACS1.DOC and EMACS2.DOC).
  1413.          If you print these to your printer, they should come out OK.
  1414.          I have edited them extensively to make them presentable in
  1415.          the ST environment.
